SUMMARY: Attached as Exhibit 2-A is a draft Resolution authorizing the Monterey Peninsula Water Management District (MPWMD) participation in the Special Districts Association of Monterey County.
In order to provide a forum for Special District Board members and managers to communicate with elected special district representatives on the Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) of Monterey County, and to provide opportunities for Special Districts to discuss and formulate strategies regarding issues they face on a local, state and federal level, the Monterey County Independent Special Districts have suggested creating a recognized association of Special Districts. The attached Resolution reflects the history and purpose of such an association. No dues are required for membership.
RECOMMENDATION: District staff recommends approval of the resolution with Adoption of the Consent Calendar.
